Love Never Gives Up
By Julie

(Georgia)
B.J. Taylor writes straight from her heart--a true
animal lover's heart. Reading about Charlie Bear, I
felt like I was in B.J.'s home with her. She's not
afraid to tell it like it really is. She had me
rooting for Charlie Bear from the start, and of
course, I fell in love with sweet Rex, her older
Lab, and Diamond and Red, her kitties.
B.J. goes the second, third, and fourth mile for
those she loves. Somehow she had me laughing and
crying at the same time because she's so incredibly
honest. She'd see the least bit of improvement in
Charlie Bear's behavior and have the faith to
continue. What a life lesson. Love never gives up.
No matter what.

Read with a box of tissues
By Eudie
(Kentucky)
I followed BJ's blog about Charlie Bear from the
beginning since I had adopted a rescue dog, Jake,
the same month. Luckily, I didn't face near the
behavior problems BJ did, but I found myself looking
forward to each new installment about Charlie Bear's
life and his adjustment to his new home. When I
found out that BJ was writing a book about their
first year together, I couldn't wait to read it. I
was not disappointed. It is a heartwarming and
touching story about the little dog that needed so
much patience and love, as well as the emotional
roller coaster the writer was living on during
Charlie's first year with her. I had been aware,
again through BJ's blog, when their older dog Rex
had died, but she went into her relationship with
him and his last year in much greater detail in the
book. If you have ever loved and lost a pet, you
will need that box of tissues here. I am not ashamed
to say that I cried as if it were my own dog. I
still read BJ's blog regularly and look forward to
reading about each new adventure in Charlie's life.
BJ writes with humor, compassion and a love for
animals that will appeal to anyone who has ever been
owned by and loved by one of God's four legged
creatures. A great read.

A Wonderful Story of a Rescue Dog
By surrounded
by cats
I couldn't put it down. I laughed and I cried.
Charlie Bear was considered "unadoptable" by his
foster mom and rescuer due to his many issues. But
everyone deserves a second chance and someone to
love them, right? Even a stubborn little dog with
behavior problems. This story of Charlie and the
other animals in the Taylor lives, Rex, Diamond, and
Red, will touch your heart.
